After many years living in Queenstown I found there was something missing - The Classic Kiwi Fish and Chip Shop! The kind that you will find at the local shops in most suburbs throughout NZ (usually with a dairy and most likely a bakery nearby).
Of course, other fish and chip options were available, but these were not prepared or served the way I had become accustom to growing up in Aotearoa.
So an idea was born and with that I hoped to bring a little bit of Kiwiana to Queenstown. We were lucky to secure our location which was perfect (Right next door to the only dairy in town). And so here we are…………..
Over the years I have been lucky enough to gain experience in some of NZ’s best fish and chips shops and I have adopted cooking styles and techniques learnt from these locations at Chur Fish & Chips.
Here are a few things we do differently at Chur:
Our fresh fish arrives daily and is prepared, and cooked to order.
Our homemade, hand-cut potato chips, potato or kumara fritters and onions rings are fresh and prepared in house daily.
Our burgers are made with locally made patties and fresh produce from local suppliers.
We have daily specials in store and often you'll find new & fresh menu items listed (depending on what is currently in season).
We use biopak plastic free products for our sauce and food packaging. These products are also home compostable and made from renewable resources. For more information go to www.biopak.co.nz
